PSV fans can be part of an interactive experience during their club's home games. This is done from a special box in the stadium in Eindhoven. Vodafone provided the underlying technology.

The football club and the telecom company are working together with 5G Hub in Eindhoven. This is an initiative of VodafoneZiggo, Ericsson, Brainport Development and the High Tech Campus. The Hub's primary mission is to promote co-creation with the help of 5G technology, bringing parties together to create profitable business models.

From now on there will be thirteen special seats in the stands of the Philips stadium, equipped with multiple screens. Spectators sitting in such an Experience Box experience the match like never before. Via the screens they receive extra information about the players (for example their energy consumption) and statistics about the course of the match. Some of this information is normally only available to the trainer and his staff.

The technology that sends all information to the special seats in real time is called 'network slicing'. Some programs that use the Experience Box require a continuous, stable connection to perform well. With this slicing technique, Vodafone reserves, as it were, part of the available bandwidth, so that these applications and data can count on an independent, secure, stable connection.
