Discovery, Inc. and VodafoneZiggo have signed a new long-term, multi-platform agreement in the Netherlands under which customers can continue to enjoy Discovery’s unique content portfolio including channels Discovery, Eurosport and TLC. A new channel 'Home & Garden TV' will be added to the offer later this year. The parties will also collaborate on making the new streaming video platform discovery+ available to Vodafone and Ziggo customers during the course of 2021.
With this deal Ziggo customers in the Netherlands will continue to have access to Discovery’s linear channels: Discovery, TLC, Eurosport, ID, Eurosport 2, Discovery Science and Animal Planet. In addition to this, a new channel HGTV 'Home & Garden TV' will be added to the offer. This partnership will first give all Vodafone customers the opportunity to experience discovery+ for a free trial period. Next to that, Ziggo plans to add discovery+ to their mediabox tv app platform, in order to give their customers easy access to ‘this home of real life entertainment’.
Discovery+ is the new streaming service for the best real-life entertainment in the world. It aggregates Discovery’s iconic and much-loved brands and content including discovery+ local and international originals and the BBC’s natural history collection, all in one place for the first time ever. The Netherlands is one of the first countries where discovery+ was launched on January 5th.
