From August, Ziggo Sport has the exclusive broadcasting rights for the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League for three years. This brings the three major European club competitions under one roof for the first time. The sports channel offers Dutch football fans over 500 live football matches per year. The football matches of participating Dutch clubs and the three finals remain free to watch for all football fans throughout the Netherlands.

Ziggo customers can watch a match of a Dutch club or another top match every match night on channel 14 of the standard package. If two Dutch clubs are playing at the same time, channel 13 is also used. The three finals can also be seen on channel 14.

Football fans who do not want to miss a single live match will watch via the extra channel package Ziggo Sport Totaal, available from Ziggo, KPN, Odido, Canal Digitaal, Tele2 and Delta, among others.

Ziggo Sport Free
Football fans without Ziggo or Ziggo Sport Totaal will get free access to the football matches of the participating Dutch clubs and the finals with a Ziggo Sport Free account. At home or on the go, they can watch via the Ziggo GO app (on smart TV, tablet and smartphone) or online via ziggogo.tv (laptop/pc). Anyone can easily sign up to access with one account using multiple devices.

Ziggo GO app
From today, the Ziggo GO app is available to everyone for free in the App store (Apple) and Google Play (Android) and works on various smart TVs, including all devices with Android TV 5.0 and higher. The Ziggo GO app for smart TVs from Samsung (Tizen 5.0 and above) and LG (webOS 5.0 and above) will become available in the coming months, well before the start of the new football season.

In addition, viewers can install the Ziggo GO app on external media players, such as Apple TV, Google TV and Amazon Fire TV stick. The app also works on several new media boxes from other providers that run on Android TV. Moreover, it is possible to stream the matches to TV via Airplay and Chromecast.

In order to be in time for the first matches in August, viewers can register a free Ziggo Sport Free account now at ziggo.nl/uefa and then download the Ziggo GO app. Until the matches start in August, anyone can temporarily watch Ziggo Sport programmes via the app.

Fleur van Beem, Director of Strategy at VodafoneZiggo and responsible for Ziggo Sport: "Where, when and with what we watch television is changing rapidly. The way of broadcasting the European matches - linear and streaming via an app - fits this changing viewing behaviour and the development of new technology. Today, millions of households already watch television daily via Ziggo GO. At the same time, we realise that there are football fans for whom watching via an app still takes some getting used to. This is why we provide comprehensive information, clear instructions and personal support, including in the form of instruction videos, step-by-step plans, guidance in our shops and telephone or digital help from our customer service."
