1 juni 2026

Liberty Global Ltd (NASDAQ: LBTYA, LBTYB and LBTYK)  today announces the intended appointment of Stephen van Rooyen, currently CEO of VodafoneZiggo, as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the future publicly listed Ziggo Group. Jany Fruytier is also announced as the intended Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

These appointments, subject to completion of the transaction and customary approvals, mark a key milestone in the formation of the first independent Benelux telecom group, bringing together VodafoneZiggo (Netherlands) and Telenet (Belgium) under one standalone organization.

With these proposed appointments, Ziggo Group chooses experience, vision, and proven leadership. Stephen van Rooyen joined VodafoneZiggo as CEO in 2024, following an international career at companies including Sky and Comcast. Under his leadership, VodafoneZiggo has delivered four consecutive quarters of improved customer retention, strong growth in the mobile segment, and successful introductions of innovative propositions such as the new brand strategy ‘The Always Everything Network’ (Ziggo), Kids & Teens subscriptions (Vodafone) and new bundles at hollandsnieuwe.

Stephen van Rooyen:
“I am grateful to be named the intended CEO of Ziggo Group. VodafoneZiggo is performing strongly, thanks to our commercial momentum and the dedication of our exceptional team. Because the business is on solid ground, it’s the right time to also focus on building Ziggo Group. Together with Telenet, we will create an independent, innovative telecom company ready to raise the bar and meet the needs of customers across the Benelux.”

Jany Fruytier, the intended CFO, brings many years of experience in finance and transformation, including previous roles at Liberty Global and Sunrise.

Ziggo Group expects to complete the transaction in the third quarter of 2026. The public listing in Amsterdam is scheduled for 2027.
