VodafoneZiggo returned to growth in its number of internet customers in the second quarter of 2026. With an increase of 12,000 customers at Ziggo and hollandsnieuwe in the consumer market, and a total net increase of 7,200 customers, this was the best quarter since early 2020. This puts the telecom company on course to grow its internet customer base over a full calendar year in seven years. Mobile also continued to grow strongly, supported by both Vodafone and hollandsnieuwe. VodafoneZiggo continues to invest in its commercial turnaround and a more effective cost structure. Financial results are in line with expectations, and the company is on track to meet its full-year targets.
Ritchy Drost, CFO of VodafoneZiggo: “This quarter’s results once again show that our strategy is working and that our campaigns and product launches are paying off. We are successfully translating innovative technology into clear, everyday benefits for our customers: we introduced fixed internet and TV at hollandsnieuwe, made it more attractive and affordable to combine mobile and fixed services with One from Vodafone and Ziggo, announced that millions of Dutch football fans will be able to enjoy all Eredivisie football without an additional TV package, and expanded our business offering. The fact that more and more customers are choosing us and staying with us, both fixed and mobile, is something we are proud of. It is now up to us to maintain this momentum and continue to build on this foundation with confidence, so we can keep offering our customers the best every day.”
Commercial results
In the second quarter of 2026, the total number of internet customers increased by 12,000, driven by a strong performance from Ziggo and the successful launch of internet and TV services at hollandsnieuwe. Despite a slight decline in the number of SoHo-customers, total net growth came to 7,200 internet customers, the best result since early 2020. After a stable first half of the year, VodafoneZiggo is on track to achieve full-year growth in its internet customer base for the first time in seven years. The number of mobile postpaid subscriptions grew by 31,700, the best result in three years, driven by strong performance at both Vodafone and hollandsnieuwe.
Financial results
VodafoneZiggo’s revenue in the second quarter was €975 million, a slight decrease of 1.5% compared with the same period last year, with the quarter-on-quarter revenue decline continuing to level off. Operating profit, or EBITDA, was €405 million this quarter, down 7.6% compared with the same quarter last year. This decrease was in line with expectations and was mainly due to lower revenue and higher content costs, partly offset by cost optimization and operational efficiencies. VodafoneZiggo also continues to make targeted investments in the reliability and resilience of its network to support a sustainable commercial turnaround. As a result, the telecom company remains on track to achieve its financial guidance for 2026.
Looking ahead
Through its Vodafone, Ziggo and hollandsnieuwe brands, VodafoneZiggo continues to work towards its ambition of becoming the preferred network in the Netherlands within three years. By investing in reliability, simplicity and service, VodafoneZiggo helps customers stay effortlessly connected to what matters most.
