From 26 March 2021, Ziggo will broadcast all Formula 1 practice sessions, qualifications and races in 4K. This highest achievable picture quality can be enjoyed exclusively on Ziggo Sport (channel 14) from the first race weekend of the new season. This is the first major sports event that Ziggo will be broadcasting in 4K.

The images in 4K (Ultra HD) are four times sharper than Full HD. Whereas a Full HD TV has an image resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 4K TV offers an even sharper picture with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. This means you won’t miss a single detail and every corner will be even sharper.

Availability
A large number of consumers already have UHD TVs, and want to watch films, series and sports in the best picture quality. In addition to the range of films and series, live top-class sport is also available in 4K. Customers who want to watch Formula 1 in 4K need a UHD TV and the Mediabox Next.

Movies, series and channels in 4K quality
Besides Formula 1, films and series are also available in 4K. Although not all films, series and programmes are produced in 4K picture quality yet, the range of rental films, TV channels, films and series offered in 4K will grow significantly in 2021. The most up-to-date range on offer can be found on the Mediabox Next. You can already rent films available in 4K picture quality via the Ziggo On Demand menu, the video library on the Mediabox Next. You can also stream various films and series in 4K via Movies & Series (XL), including the hit series The Handmaid's Tale, but also the Love Nature channel, which is broadcast in 4K quality.
